“How natural will my implant look?” is a common question we get from our new patients.
When placing a dental implant and a crown, we want the end result to be as natural-looking as possible. This includes creating a custom-made crown to mimic the existing teeth. Additionally, some work on the gums may be required to match the look of the rest of the mouth. The following case study is an example of both.
Case Study
The patient in the images below had a crown put on their dental implant. We have rebuilt the gum to look natural – when the tooth was lost the gum had shrunk away for this patient.
Through our treatment, we were able to make the gum look like it did before she lost the tooth. This means the patient ended up with a really harmonious result, where you can’t tell the difference between the dental implant and her natural tooth next door. Additionally, the gum looks consistent across the mouth and you can’t notice that there was ever any gum loss.
Our crowns are custom-made by Dental Excellence Laboratory in Shrewsbury, UK. The crowns are designed to mimic the natural color and look of the patient’s teeth, so that the new tooth is indistinguishable from the rest of the teeth.
