Dr Aly Virani
Aly Virani is a graduate of Cardiff University. He holds a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has been awarded his Master of Science degree in Clinical Oral Implantology by Ulster University. His practice of dentistry is focused solely on the placement and restoration of dental implants.
From 2013-2019 Aly worked as a Clinical Research Fellow and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Bristol Dental Hospital, University of Bristol. He was also involved with undergraduate teaching & training of Periodontology and has assisted with practical instruction on the Masters Programme in Implantology.
Aly is an elected representative on the executive committee of the Independent Dental Association Wales. He has previously been an ambassador for the Young ITI (International Team for Implantology) and held a position on the board of directors of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI), where he was the Welsh Representative from 2015-2017 and again in 2021.
He is a Member of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) and remains an active member of the Association of Dental Implantology. He continues to lecture in the national forum.
Aly mentors colleagues that are placing implants locally and nationally. He is also a visiting lecturer on the Practical Implantology Academy, which is a postgraduate course for dentists that teaches them to safely place and restore implants. He is also the Course Director and Implant Module Lead for Transformative Education in Dentistry.
Aly enjoys working together with his patients in order to meet their oral health requirements. He believes in a holistic and specific approach tailored to each patient, from the nervous individual to those looking to improve their smile. He appreciates that one’s experiences and circumstances are fundamental to understanding their dental needs. He prides himself in being able to tailor treatment plans to each patient and succinctly communicate these often complex plans.
He considers himself particularly fortunate to work as part of an implant team at the practice which combines the expertise of restorative dentists with his implant knowledge and experience; this allows for true multidisciplinary care to be delivered under one roof and has a huge benefit to our patients who get the best of all worlds.
